Gender reveal parties have become something of a phenomenon. More and more parents-to-be are planning these gatherings, where they find out their baby's sex and celebrate with their closest friends and family.

How does it work? Typically, an ultrasound technician will write the gender of the child on a slip of paper, which is then taken to a bakery where a cake is prepared in the color to match the gender. Icing covers the surprise, which is only revealed when the cake is cut.
